గోధుమలు విసరుట, వేదాంతభావము. (The significance of Saibaba grinding wheat.)

నేడు శ్రావణిపూర్ణమి, 1912 ఈ పవిత్ర తిధినాడు సాయిబాబా ఆశీసులతో గురుస్థానమువద్ద బాబాపాదుకలు ప్రతిష్టింపబడ్డాయి.
శ్రీసాయిసచ్చరిత్ర పావన గ్రంధంలో శ్రీసాయిబాబా తాము ద్వారకామాయిలో నివసించిన షుమారు 60 సంవత్సరముల కాలం తిరుగలిలో గోధుమలు విసిరినారని గ్రంధకర్త శ్రీహేమాడపంతు పేర్కొన్నాడు. ఇపుడు తిరుగలి, గోధుమలు, విసరుట, గోధుమపిండి వీని వెనుకనున్న వేదాంతభావమును పరిశీలించెదము. రచయిత ఈవిషయమై వేదాంతభావమును కొంతవివరించినా మరింత లోతుగా ఈ విషయమై తెలిసికొనుటకు జేసిన ప్రయత్నమే ఈ ప్రస్తుత వ్యాసరచన ముఖ్యోద్దేశము. పాఠక భక్తులు తమతమ ఆలోచనలకనుగుణంగా ఈవిషయాన్ని గ్రహించగలరు. బాబా విసరినది ముడి గోధుమలు, వాటిలో జీవమున్నది, అనుకూలపరిస్థితులలో తిరిగి మొలకెత్తి మరిన్నిగోధుమల నుత్పత్తికి కారణభూతము కాగలవు. కాని గోధుమలనొకసారి విసరి పిండిజేసిన వానిలో జీవము నశించి మొలకెత్తు పటిమ కోల్పోబడుతుంది. ఈ విషయంవెనుక దాగిన తత్వమేమిటి? ముడి గోధుమలు వ్యక్తుల అహంకారమునకు, పుణ్యపాప కర్మలకు, ఆయా కర్మఫలములకు విషయవాసనలకు, లోదాగిన కామ క్రోధ లోభ మోహ మద మాత్సర్యాది శత్రువులకు సంకేతము. గోధుమలు మొలకెత్తే విధంగా మనిషి తన అహంకార,కర్మఫలాల నివృత్తికై మరలమరల జన్మలెత్తవలెనని వేదాంత వివరణ. దీనికి సూచనగనే బాబా గోధుమలు విసిరారు. గోధుమ పిండిలో ఎంత శక్తిదాగుందోకాని శిరిడీ పొలిమేరల జల్లినపిమ్మట కలరాజాడ్యము తొలగినది. అనగా విసిరిన పిండి అంత శక్తి సంతరించుకొన్నదన్నమాట. ముడిగోధుమల బాబా పొలిమేరల జల్లింపనివిషయమిచట మరువరాదు. ఏ విధంగా బాబా సంకల్పము మరియు స్పర్శలచే శక్తిహీన గోధుమలు శక్తిని పొందాయో అదేవిధంగా సాయిని శరణుకోరిన ఆశ్రీతుల హృదయములలోని పై జెప్పబడిన పాపకర్మఫలాలు మున్నగు సకల దోషములు హరింపబడుటచే వారి అంతరంగములు శుద్ధినొందును. మలిన జలంలో కొన్ని చిల్లగింజల వేసిన మాలిన్యాలు అడుగునజేరి శుద్ధజలం శుభ్రమై పానయోగ్యమవుతున్న తీరున భక్తుల హృదయాలు పవిత్రమై ఆత్మప్రకాశాన్ని దర్శించు యోగ్యత ప్రాప్తిస్తుంది. అలాంటి పావన హృదయాలలోనే దైవం వసిస్తాడని మన గ్రంధాలుటంకిస్తున్నాయి. అంటే సాయి గోధుమలు విసరు నిత్య కృత్యంచే తమ భక్తుల దోషముల హరించి వారిని దైవంవైపు నడిపిస్తున్నారన్నమాట. ద్వారకామాయిలో సాయిబాబా యోగాగ్ని ధుని ప్రతిష్టించి, ముడి కట్టెల మండింపజేసి అందుండి వెడలిన మహిమల కాణాచి దివ్యవిభూతిని భక్తులకు తమ ఆశీర్వాదముగా పంచెడివారనువిషయమిచట స్మరణ యోగ్యము. ధుని విభూతి లీలలు కొల్లలు, భక్తుల యనుభవములే యిందులకు నిదర్శనము. తిరుగలిగూర్చి మరింత వివరణ చెప్పబడినది. తిరుగలి క్రింది కల్లు కర్మ, పైకల్లు భక్తి మరియు తిరుగలి పిడి జ్ఞానము. అనగా వ్యక్తులు ఫలాసక్తిలేక నిష్కామకర్మలనాచరింపవలెను, దైవంపై సదా భక్తికలిగియుండవలెను, దైవమె సర్వాధికారి లేక ' అల్లామాలిక్ ' యనే మరుపులేని యెరుక లేక జ్ఞానంతో సదా సద్గురుని, దైవాన్ని శరణు కోరవలె నన్నమాట!

🌸 Devotional English Translation 🌸
Om Sri Sainathaya Namah
Today is Shravani Purnima. On this holy full-moon day in the year 1912, by the divine grace of Sri Sai Baba, His sacred Padukas were consecrated at the Gurusthan.
In the blessed scripture Sri Sai Satcharitra, the author Sri Hemadpant lovingly records that for nearly sixty years, Baba lived in the Dwarkamai Masjid and every day He would scatter wheat into the grinding mortar (tīrgalī). Today, let us reflect upon the inner Vedantic significance hidden behind the acts of the mortar, the wheat, the scattering, and the grinding.
Though the writer has hinted at this meaning, the present essay attempts to go a little deeper, offering seekers a subtler understanding. Devotees may contemplate according to their own intuition.
Baba scattered raw wheat—wheat that has life within it, which can sprout again when placed in favourable soil and multiply manyfold. But once wheat is crushed into flour, the life-power is gone; it can no longer sprout or take birth again.
What is the inner teaching here?
Raw wheat symbolises:
the human ego
the stock of past karma
the burden of merit and sin
the deep-rooted vasanas
and the six internal enemies — desire, anger, greed, delusion, pride, and jealousy
As long as these seeds remain potent, they sprout again as new births. Hence Vedanta declares:
Man is born again and again until the seeds of karma and ego are ground to nothingness.
Baba’s scattering of wheat points precisely to this truth.
How powerful Baba’s touch is! The flour from the grinding mortar—though ordinary—became so charged with His sankalpa that when it was sprinkled on the borders of Shirdi, the dreadful cholera epidemic vanished.
Thus the flour, though lifeless in the worldly sense, became divine and living through Baba’s grace.
So too, the raw wheat that Baba scattered upon the village boundaries must not be forgotten. Just as the touch and will of Baba transformed simple wheat into protective divine power, His grace destroys in devotees the seeds of sin and ignorance. When these impurities disappear, the inner being becomes purified.
Just as adding a few alum crystals to muddy water causes the mud to settle and leaves the water clear and drinkable, similarly, the hearts of devotees are purified and made fit to reflect the light of the Self. In such pure hearts alone does the Lord reside, as our scriptures declare.
Thus the daily act of Baba scattering wheat was not a mere outward ritual—it was a silent divine work, removing the inner defects of His children and guiding them towards God.
In Dwarkamai, Baba established the Dhuni, the sacred fire of Yogic power. From the burning firewood emerged Udi, the sacred ash, which Baba lovingly distributed as His blessing. The countless miracles of Udi and the experiences of devotees stand as living testimony to this divine mystery.
The grinding mortar itself holds a deep symbolism:
The lower grinding stone represents karma,
The upper stone represents bhakti,
The flour produced is jnana, the wisdom that liberates.
The teaching is profound:
One must perform actions without attachment, remain ever devoted to the Lord, and with the unshakable knowledge that “Allah Malik”—God alone is the Supreme Master—take refuge at the feet of the Sadguru.
May the rays of Sri Sai’s boundless compassion ever shine upon all!
May peace and auspiciousness fill every heart!
