See Me in Everyone, and Everyone in Me!
Vijayadasami greetings to all the dear readers! See Me in Everyone, and Everyone in Me!
Sai Baba’s Message of Love, Unity, and Selfless Service
One of the greatest truths of spiritual life is beautifully expressed in Sai Baba’s message: “See Me in everyone, and see everyone in Me.” These are not merely words to admire; they are an invitation to transform the way we see others and live our lives.
Our eyes see differences in appearance, language, beliefs, and status. We naturally draw close to those we like and distance ourselves from those who disagree with us. But when we look beyond these differences, we discover that every living being deserves kindness, dignity, and compassion.
Seeing the Divine in everyone does not mean approving of every action. It means replacing hatred with understanding and responding to others with love and wisdom.
From Blossoms to Fruits — The True Test of Spiritual Practice
A mango tree may be covered with blossoms, but only some develop into fruits. Spiritual life follows a similar pattern.
Many people attend prayers, sing devotional songs, read scriptures, and visit holy places. These are valuable practices, but their true purpose is to bring about an inner transformation.
Has our anger diminished? Have we become more patient? Can we speak gently, forgive sincerely, and understand another person’s suffering?
Blossoms are beautiful, but fruits reveal maturity. Likewise, devotion becomes meaningful when it ripens into humility, compassion, honesty, and service. The greatness of a Sai devotee lies not merely in the number of prayers offered, but in the love shared with others.
Love Is Divine
We often search for God in temples, sacred places, and scriptures. These can inspire us on our spiritual journey. Yet, if we cannot recognize the suffering of someone beside us, something essential may be missing from our search.
Speaking sweetly means more than using pleasant words. It means expressing disagreement without humiliating others, controlling anger, admitting our mistakes, and offering forgiveness.
Honesty does not require us to be perfect. It asks us to acknowledge our shortcomings rather than conceal them. When truth is accompanied by kindness, and our words are guided by love, relationships become more peaceful and meaningful.
Love is not simply an emotion; it is a way of living.
“Allah Malik” — Who Truly Owns This World?
Sai Baba’s words, “Allah Malik” — God is the Master — remind us that our possessions, positions, and achievements are temporary. Life itself is like a play in which we perform different roles as parents, children, friends, and members of society.
This does not mean neglecting our responsibilities. We must care for our families, work sincerely, and contribute to society. But we can do so without becoming prisoners of possessiveness and pride.
What we receive in life can be accepted with gratitude and shared with generosity. When we loosen our attachment to “mine” and “yours,” life becomes less of a struggle and more of a sacred opportunity.
Compassion for Every Living Being
Does divine love belong only to human beings? What about animals, birds, trees, and the natural world?
Offering food to a hungry animal, water to a thirsty bird, help to an injured creature, or protection to a tree are simple expressions of compassion. Every living being deserves consideration and care.
If we regard the Divine as the Father of all creation, our responsibility toward creation must also grow. Worship should make our hearts more compassionate, and devotion should find expression in our everyday actions.
The lamp we light before God should remind us to bring light into the lives of others.
Let the Sadguru Guide Your Life
Life brings uncertainties, disappointments, and difficult decisions. At such times, faith in the Sadguru can provide strength and direction.
Entrusting the reins of life to the Guru does not mean abandoning our responsibilities. It means allowing the Guru’s teachings to guide our judgment, discipline our minds, and strengthen our discernment.
Faith does not necessarily make every difficulty disappear. Rather, it can help us face challenges with courage, accept what lies beyond our control, and act wisely where action is possible.
We must make sincere efforts while learning not to become overwhelmed by outcomes we cannot command. This is the deeper beauty of surrender: walking our path responsibly while trusting the light that guides us.
Become a Lamp That Lights Other Lamps
A lamp does not lose its light by lighting another lamp. Love works in the same way. Encouraging someone does not diminish our happiness; sharing knowledge does not reduce our wisdom; helping another person gives deeper meaning to our own lives.
We need not undertake extraordinary acts of service. Listening patiently to someone in distress, comforting a lonely person, encouraging someone who has lost hope, or sharing something useful can all become expressions of devotion.
The peace we discover through prayer should enter our homes, relationships, and communities. When the light within us becomes a source of hope for someone else, our spiritual practice bears its sweetest fruit.
Beyond Ritual — The Light Within
Offering Aarti to Sai Baba is a sacred act of devotion. Yet its deeper purpose is fulfilled when that light also shines through our lives.
Spiritual growth does not mean suppressing our emotions. It means learning to observe anger, fear, jealousy, and sorrow without becoming completely controlled by them. Prayer, self-awareness, and wisdom can gradually bring greater clarity and peace to the mind.
We do not have to become perfect saints overnight. It is enough to show a little more love today than yesterday, speak a little more gently, and make room in our hearts for another person’s needs.
These small changes are the true fruits of spiritual practice.
To see Sai Baba in everyone is to treat every living being with love. To experience Sai Baba within ourselves is to awaken the love, compassion, truthfulness, and spirit of service already waiting in our hearts.
May our hearts become lamps of love, our lives bring comfort to others, and our devotion lead us along the path shown by the Sadguru.
May Sai Nath’s blessings be upon all.
Om Sri Sainathaya Namah! 🙏
